Romanian man held at TIA with cache of foreign currencies

KATHMANDU: Nepal Police said a Romanian national was held with a cache of undeclared foreign currency from the Tribhuvan International Airport on Saturday. Identified as Andrei Guitreau (name transcribed) bearing Romanian Passport No. 052716895, the 34-year-old man possessed USD 35,000 and Euro 7,350. Security personnel at the TIA found the fortune in his handbag while he was heading to a board a flight to Doha today. He intended to return Bucharest via Doha, according to police. As per Nepal's customs law, a traveller is allowed to carry declared foreign currency up to USD 5,000 only. READ ALSO:
