Man killed in Tanahun bus hit

TANAHUN: A man died after being hit by a passenger bus along the Prithvi Highway in Manpang village of Tanahun district on Monday. The 45-year-old Prakash Gurung was riding on a scooter (Ga 11 Pa 1830) when the bus travelling toward the opposite direction (Na 4 Kha 8117) hit the two-wheeler in Sera, Manpang-3, the Tanahun District Police Office said. The victim was a permanent resident of Shukla Gandaki Municipality of the district. The pillion rider Gagan Singh Kumal (33) sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment at Dulegaunda-based Seti Ganga Community Hospital, police added. The bus involved in the accident was heading toward Kathmandu from Beni of Myagdi. Meanwhile, kin of the victims obstructed traffic along the Damauli-Khairenitar section of the Prithvi Highway demanding compensation. Police have arrested the bus driver for further investigation.
