Regmi bags Asia’s Dignitary Man of the Year title

Kathmandu, August 20 Former Chairperson of the Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi has been awarded the title of ‘Asia’s Dignitary Man of the Year’ by We Care for Humanity, a US-based organisation. He was awarded “Asia’s Dignitary Man of the Year” at the We Care for Humanity’s 3rd Global Officials of Dignity Awards function, which was held at UN Millennium Hotel from August 17 to 19, 2016. Regmi was honoured for his contribution to holding the second Constituent Assembly elections in 2014 amidst challenges, and also serving the people and society through judicial service. The former Chief Justice of Nepal was honoured along with former heads of government and states, and renowned social campaigners at the awards ceremony held to mark the International Summit on Humanity. Receiving the award, Regmi pointed out the need for working continuously with the feeling of service and voluntarism in order to guide the world towards the path of success. “Only dedication to humanitarian service and socially beneficial work can help build a peaceful, harmonious and prosperous society,” he said, according to his press coordinator Rajendra Prasad Pandeya.
