KATHMANDU: Tension ran high in the Basundhara-based Ishan Children and Women's Hospital after a child died during the course of treatment in Kathmandu on Tuesday. The patient party accused the hospital of negligence and resorted to vandalism after three-old-old Bikrishna Maharjan's death. The boy, who apparently suffered from pneumonia, was admitted to the intensive care unit of the hospital at around 1 am. The hospital told the patient's guardians at around 5:45 am the boy succumbed to his illness. The bereaved family refused to collect the body and demanded that the case be investigated and those responsible for the boy's death be booked. (With inputs from Rastriya Samachar Samiti)
