Kathmandu, August 27 The residents of Aarughat today appealed for post-quake reconstruction works to be expedited and given top priority. During a meeting with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal at the latter’s official residence at Baluwatar, Aarughat locals emphasised on giving special attention to the Budhi Gandaki Hydro Power Project, along with speeding up the overdue reconstruction works. The locals reminded the PM of the need to relocate settlements under risk of flooding from the hydro power project. PM Dahal responded by stating that his stay in Aarughat when he was younger has always been a source of energy in his political life and promised to lend utmost support for its development. PM Dahal said his election as the head of the government took place in a difficult time, and pledged to spend his term in office in the pursuit of national interest. The PM also noted that he was sensitive towards the demands raised by Aarughat locals.
