Woman dies after being swept away by Pokhara canal

KATHMANDU: A woman has died after being swept away by a swollen canal following incessant rainfall at Siddhartha Chok in Pokhara-4 of Kaski district on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Mina Bhandari (48) of Dang, currently residing at Bagaletole of the tourist hub, said Spokesperson at the Kaski District Police Office, DSP Gaju Siddhi Bajracharya. “She fell into the canal while walking beside it and was swept away” The cadaver, however, was spotted at Phirkekhola near the Phewa Lake later. Meanwhile, the victim's family already collected the body after postmortem, said the DPO.
