BANEPA: The Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police nabbed a man in possession of 700 gm pangolin scales from Panauti of Kavrepalanchok distirct on Sunday. According to the Janagal Area Forest Office, the arrestee has been identified a Sonam Singh Waiba (28) of Chyasingkharka of the district. After investigation, it has been learned that the seized scales had been imported from Madanbas of Chyasinkharka, informed the AFO Ranger Shankhar Jha. In the international market, the scales of the endangered species are worth Rs 150,000 per kg while skin per kg is worth Rs 300,000. Waiba would be booked for his crime under the National Park and Wildlife Conservation Act, Ranger Jha added.
