Lalitpur, October 21 Defending champion Bhawana Sunuwar and Bipana Blon entered the final of the fourth Civil Bank Open Squash Championship here at the Squash Academy courts today. In the women’s singles semi-final matches, Sunuwar outplayed Sapana Blon 11-3, 11-6, 11-3 to take berth in the final, while Bipana Blon registered a 11-1, 11-6, 11-8 victory over Swosthani Shrestha. In boys’ U-13 semi-final matches, Ranjit Thapa beat Sabin Thapa Magar 11-7, 11-4, 6-11, 11-5, while Gopal Thapa saw off Bikash Magar 11-5, 11-4, 11-2. Likewise, Deepak Thapa recorded a 11-9, 11-5, 11-4 win over Bijay Magar and Amir Blon struggled against Roshan Lama to win the battle 11-6, 14-12, 8-11, 11-8 in the semi-final matches of boys’ U-19 category. Defending champion Sudeep Bahadur Singh will face British Gurkha participant Yam Rana in the final of the veteran singles final. Singh beat Mahendra Maharjan 11-1, 11-0, 11-5, while Rana made it 11-4, 12-10, 11-6 against Lal Bahadur Gurung. The men’s singles semi-finals along with all the final matches will be played on Saturday.
