KATHMANDU: Narendra Shrestha has been elected the President of All Nepal Football Association. With 36 votes, he defeated the sole rival Karma Tshiring Sherpa, who was restricted to 31 votes. Likewise, Mani Kunwar was elected the Vice-President with 34 votes. He had defeated Deepak Khati (25) and Upendra Man Singh (8). The president’s post in Nepal's football governing body was vacant since November last year after FIFA Ethics Committee banned Ganesh Thapa for 10 years for his involvement in corruption and other charges related to disciplines, while the vice-president’s post is vacant following the death of the then acting president Lalit Krishna Shrestha in March last year. Narendra Lal Shrestha, who was nominated as the vice-president following the death of Lalit Krishna Shrestha, had been at the helm of ANFA for the last 10 months.
