Rara Lake becoming popular among domestic tourists

JUMLA: Nepal's biggest lake Rara has become a popular destination for both foreign and domestic tourists with access by road reaching there. The number of people visiting the lake in two weeks after Dashain this year has reached around 2,600. According to a tourism entrepreneur Gopal Bam, although there was no mobility of tourists during the rainy season; this time around, 150 to 200 tourists have been reportedly visiting the lake every day since the Dashain festival concluded. With the huge arrival of tourists to the area, it has become tough for the tourism entrepreneurs managing their services. Most of the tourists visiting the lake are domestic, among which majority of them are from Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Pokhara, Chitwan, Bhairahawa, Butwal, Surkhet and some eastern district, Bam said.
