KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 6

International passengers arriving at Tribhuvan International Airport will now be able to monitor the movement of their checked baggage in real time after authorities introduced a live-feed system aimed at improving transparency and passenger service.

According to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, the new service has been installed at the airport's luggage-handling section and provides passengers with updates after baggage is unloaded from an aircraft and transported towards the baggage claim area.

Officials said the system is expected to help travelers better understand the status of their luggage and estimate how long it will take before bags arrive on the conveyor belt.

The ministry described the initiative as part of broader efforts to modernise airport services, improve transparency in service delivery and align airport operations more closely with international standards.

Tribhuvan International Airport, Nepal's main international gateway, has frequently faced criticism from travelers over baggage delays and service quality. Authorities hope the introduction of real-time information services will improve the passenger experience and strengthen confidence in airport operations.
