KATHMANDU: Police said two incidents of thefts were reported from Thamel of Kathmandu and Kusunti of Lalitpur on Friday. A gang of thieves barged into a jewellery shop at the Goma Laxmi Supermarket in Thamel, KMC-29 last night and made off with various ornaments of silver and red coral (munga) collectively worth Rs 550,000. In another case, property worth Rs 194,000 was stolen from a rented room in Kusunti, LSMC-14 yesterday itself. A gang of thieves had barged into the room of Suman Kharel (25) to decamp with a laptop, a camera and three mobile phones, police said. Local police stations are searching for the suspects and are investigating into the case.
