Udayapur, November 12 Former prime minister and CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has ruled out the possibility of constitution amendment against national interests. Speaking at a function organised by the party in Katari today, Oli said, “Amending the constitution to separate the hills from the Madhes or vice versa is unacceptable.” He also pledged to fight attempts to disintegrate the country in the name of state restructuring. Further, the former prime minister accused the government of being a puppet of foreign powers. “As the government is acting under instructions from foreigners, this has jeopardised our national sovereignty,” he remarked. On a different note, the UML leader expressed his confidence that the impeachment motion against Lokman Singh Karki, the suspended chief of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority, would to endorsed by the Parliament at any cost . “The motion was tabled for endorsement in the Parliament. So I urge people not to doubt whether or not the motion would be endorsed,” he argued. Speaking on the occasion, UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal dwelt on the rationale behind the impeachment motion and said, “As he had started acting like a king, it rightly called for the impeachment motion against him.”Further, he also blasted the dilly-dallying of Nepali Congress on the fate of the impeachment motion registered against Karki. The UML leaders were in Katari to address a mass meeting as a part of the party consolidation campaign.
