Nepal suffer another humiliation as B'desh win by 92 runs

KATHMANDU: Nepal suffered another humiliating loss in the ACC Women's Asia Cup as Bangladesh registered a 92-run win at the Asian Institute of Technology grounds in Bangkok on Tuesday. It is Nepal's third consecutive defeat in the tournament. Electing to bat first,  Bangladesh posted 134/4 in their allotted 20 overs. Later, they bowled out Nepal for a paltry 41 runs. Fahima Khatun wreaked havoc on Nepal claiming four crucial wickets of Sita Magar, Nary Thapa, Roshani Bohara and Karuna Bhandari. Nahida Akhtar took two Nepali wickets, while Suraya Azmim, Rumana Ahmed, Jahanara Alam and Panna Ghose claimed apiece. Sita Magar top-scored for Nepal with 15, while other batters could not make runs in double digit. Magar was caught by Jahanara Alam on Khatun's delivery. Thapa succumbed to Khatun's LBW trap while Bohara was caught by Panna Ghosh. Both of them failed to contribute any run. Nepal lost their first wicket as Jyoti Pandey was sent back to pavilion for meagre 1 in the first delivery of second over. Neera Rajopadhyay could make only two runs when she was stumped by Nighar Sultana. Alam claimed Rubina Chhetry's wicket. Chhetry made seven. Indu Barma scored nine. Karuna Bhandari could make one and Sangita Rai four. In another match played today, India registered a five-wicket victory over Pakistan. ACC Women’s Asia Cup T20: Bangladesh score 133/4 against Nepal KATHMANDU: Bangladesh posted a target of 134 runs for Nepal in the ACC Women's Asia Cup match being played at the Asian Institute of Technology in Bangkok on Tuesday. Likewise, Shaila Sharmin made 19. Rumana Ahmed made unbeaten 17 and Famiha Khatun unbeaten eight. Nepal offered 11 extras to Bangladesh. Nepal have lost their two consecutive matches and remain at the bottom of the table.
