KATHMANDU: The Tarai Madhes Democratic Party Chairman Mahantha Thakur has emphasised the need for amending the Constitution in a way that would address the demands of Madhesis, indigenous people, Tharus and suppressed communities, on Friday. Thakur also said that the report of the State Restructuring Commission should be made a base to determine the provincial boundaries. 'The Commission has identified areas from Jhapa to Kanchanpur for two states,' he buttressed, adding 'The entire Nawalparasi district should be integrated into Madhes.' Chairman Thakur further clarified that they could not accept the Constitution, as it was promulgated by breaching the agreement reached in the past to federate the country on the basis of identity. 'If the Constitution amendment bill registered at the Parliament gets revised, we are ready to support its endorsement,' he added.
