SOLUKHUMBU: CPN-UML leader and former Constituent Assembly (CA) Chair Subas Chandra Nembang has opined not to split the Province No 5. Addressing the four-month public mobilisation programme organised by the party district committee on Tuesday, leader Nembang, who is also the deputy leader of the UML parliamentary party, further said that few are conspiring to separate the hilly districts from Tarai in Province No 5 aiming to disintegrate the sovereignty of the nation. He further claimed that the Constitution amendment bill registered in the parliament propose splitting of the Tarai districts in other provinces as well. Nembang said that the issues raised by the Madhes-based parties were in interest of some handful leaders not of all the Tarai people. He expressed surprise over the support the Nepali Congress and CPN-Maoist Centre were providing in such 'anti-nationalistic' proposal. In another context, he claimed that only UML could lead the nation uniting people from the Hills, Mountains and Tarai.
