Manaslu make it two in a row, Annapurna win

Lalitpur, December 7 Team Manaslu and Team Annapurna registered victories in the men’s National Cricket Tournament for Blinds at the Engineering College grounds here today. In the first match of the day, Mansalu defeated Annapurna by eight wickets. Manaslu bowled Annapurna out for 87 runs in 19.3 overs and raced to victory in just 13.2 overs losing only two wickets. Bharat Chaulagain top scored with 28 runs, while Jeevan Gurung contributed 26 runs for Manaslu. Annapurna’s Sunil Dhamala picked up both the wickets. Earlier, Annapurna put up 87 runs with Shobh Ram Dangi and Ganesh Sapkota scoring 15 runs each. Manaslu’s Ramesh Baniya claimed three wickets whereas Sunil Rana and Jeevan Gurung pocketed two wickets each. This is second straight win for Manaslu, who had defeated Team Dhaulagiri by 41 runs on Tuesday. In another match, Annapurna bounced back to beat Dhaulagiri by three runs. Opting to bat first, Annapurna scored 107 runs losing six wickets in 20 overs riding on Sunil Thapa Magar’s 25 runs and Sagar Lama’s 22 runs. Badri Chaulagain, Bharat Thapa and Durga Paudel grabbed two wickets each for Dhaulagiri, who managed 105-5 in reply. Bikram Thapa top scored with 14 runs and Ram Prasad Paudel added 12 runs. Shobh Ram Dangi, Santosh Sapkota, Damodar BC and Sunil Thapa took a wicket each for Annapurna. Dhaulagiri had faced a four-wicket defeat against Dhaulagiri on Tuesday.
