8 secys shunted in bureaucratic shuffle

Kathmandu, October 28:

The government has transferred and placed eight secretaries to various ministries and bodies, and promoted nine officers as secretaries.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held yesterday also decided to promote five officers as secretaries, the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers said in a press statement today.

Narayan Prasad Silwal of the reserve pool has been transferred as secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, secretary at the Ministry of Environment and Science and Technology Swayambhu Man Amatya has been transferred to Ministry of Forest and Soil Conservation, secretary at the Ministry of Forest and Soil Conservation Ananta Raj Pandey to the the Ministry of Environment and Science and Technology and Chief Officer at the National Vigilance Centre Bal Krishna Prasain to the post of Secretary at the Ministry of Home.

Likewise, secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives Govinda Prasad Pandey has been transferred to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, secretary at the Ministry of Land Reforms and Management Tirtha Raj Sharma Gyawali to the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) and secretary at the Ministry of Health and Population Lav Kumar Devkota and secretary at the Ministry of Home Chandi Prasad Shrestha have been posted to the reserve pool of the Ministry of General Administration.

Joint secretary at the Ministry of Home Kumar Prasad Poudel has been promoted to the post of secretary at the Ministry of Information and Communications, joint secretary at the Ministry of Education and Sports Chuman Singh Basnet to the post of secretary at the same Ministry, joint secretary at the Ministry of Finance Sushil Prasad Sharma to the post of the Comptroller General at the Office of the Comptroller General, joint secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives Ganesh Kumar KC to the post of sat the same Ministry and joint secretary at the Ministry of Labour and Transport Management Dipendra Bikram Thapa to the post of secretary at the same Ministry.

Joint secretary in the reserve pool at the Ministry of General Administration Dolakh Bahadur Gurung has been promoted to the post of secretary at the Election Commission, joint secretary in the reserve pool Ramkrishna Tiwari to the post of secretary at the National Planning Commission Secretariat, joint secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yuba Raj Pandey to the post of secretary at the Ministry of Local Development and joint secretary at the Ministry of Finance Ramchandra Man Singh to the post of secretary at the Ministry of Health and Population.

The Prime Minister’s Office in a press release today stated that joint secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nabin Bahadur Shrestha has been promoted to the post of acting secretary in the same Ministry, joint secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives Krishna Kumar Shrestha to the post of acting chief officer at the National Vigilance Centre, joint secretary at the Public Service Commission Sushil Jung Bahadur Rana to the post of acting secretary in the Commission, joint secretary at the Ministry of Water Resources Shital Babu Regmi to the post of acting executive secretary in the Water and Energy Commission Secretariat and joint secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office Yubaraj Bhusal to the post of acting secretary at the Ministry of Land Reforms and Management.
