KATHMANDU: The government has announced a public holiday to celebrate the Christmas festival on Sunday. Minister for Home Affairs Bimalendra Nidhi's press advisor Ramjee Dahal informed THT Online that the government has revived the holiday, earlier scrapped by the KP Sharma Oli-led government. It is celebrated to mark the birth of Jesus Christ on December 25. The festival has been recognised as a national festival since 2007, and non-Christians also celebrate Christmas with a lot of zeal.
