ILAM: A youth died of electric shock while fishing at the Mahamai River in Ilam district, on Friday. The Ilam District Police Office has identified the deceased as Dinesh Kumar Lawati (21) of Mahamai VDC-1 in the district. The body of Lawati has been taken to the Jhapa-based Mechi Zonal Hospital for the postmortem, said police. In a separate incident, police said Dharmananda Panta (63) of  Bhimdattanagar Municipality-8 in Kanchanpur district was electrocuted while working. Panta received the shock while he was fixing the wire in a motor used to draw water. He had died on the spot, informed the Kanchanpur District Police Office. His body has been handed over to his relatives after an autopsy, police informed.
