Government effortful to widen acceptance of constitution: PM

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has extended best wishes to all Nepalis for their happiness, peace and prosperity on the occasion of Maghi and Maghe Sankranti. Maghi is Tharu community's big festival and Maghe Sankranti is being celebrated on Saturday by different Nepali communities including Magar across the country. In the greetings message delivered today, Prime Minister Dahal said the festival may inspire entire Nepali denizens to get united for the development of the country by reinforcing energy towards building national unity and national fundamental culture. 'The festival is the example of unity in diversity as it is celebrated by diverse communities in different names', reads the message. Prime Minister Dahal further noted that the foremost national need of the hour is to move to the path of economic prosperity on the backing of national unity. The government is effortful to attain the goal of widening acceptance of the constitution through dialogue and consensus, PM added. Meanwhile, CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli extended wishes to all sisters and brothers as well as Magar, Tharu and Chhantyal communities living in and out of the country on the same occasion. Chairman Oli expressed the belief that the festival will further strengthen social harmony and national unity in the country. 'The festival will encourage all of us to advance the path of economic prosperity through political stability, consensus and collaboration', states the greetings message delivered by Oli.
