World Bank, govt discuss operation of Agribusiness Innovation Centre

KATHMANDU: The InfoDev of World Bank discussed with the government issues related to financing the under-construction Agribusiness Innovation Centre of the Project for Agricultural Commercialisation and Trade under the Ministry of Agricultural Development. PACT Director Govinda Prasad Sharma and World Bank Global Product Specialist Ellen Olafsen discussed the technical aspects of the ABIC on Friday. Olafsen in the meeting assured to provide a grant of Rs 1.4 billion through the International Finance Corporation of the WB, according to PACT. Once completed, the ABIC would provide consultancy to smaller entrepreneurs with the help of the Practical Action UK. Sharma said the grant donors would be sent to different parts of India for training. PACT officials and experts had also participated in the meeting.
