KATHMANDU: A person was killed and another sustained injuries while a motorcycle they were riding on was hit by a truck in Satungal, Chandragiri Municipality on the western outskirts of Kathmandu on Thursday. Police said the two-wheeler (Ba 29 Pa 6896) was hit by the truck (Lu 1 Kha 9939) injuring motorcyclist Jaya Shankardev Chaudhary (32) of Keteruwa-9 in Saptari district. His pillion rider 50-year-old Narayan Shrestha of Sindhupalchok district breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the Maharajgunj-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital. Injured Chaudhary is currently undergoing treatment at the same health facility, added police. Meanwhile, police have rounded up the truck driver for further investigation.
