PARSA: The first chief of the then Birgunj Municipality in Parsa district, Keshar Prasad Manandahar is no more. The 95-year-old Manandhar breathed his last during treatment at the Birgunj-based Narayani Sub-regional Hospital at around 5:30 am on Sunday. Manandhar had been a long-time patient of asthma and respiration-related diseases. He had been admitted to the ICU of the National Medical College in Birgunj and was transferred to the Sub-Regional Hospital four days ago, after no improvement surfaced. Born in Birta of Birgunj, Manandhar was elected the Mayor of Birgunj Municipality in 1953 and re-elected in 1957 after the end of his first term.
