Local election for implementation of constitution: UML leader Khanal

BARDIBAS: Senior leader of the CPN-UML, Jhalanath Khanal, has said present mandate before the political parties is to hold local election successfully for the implementation of the constitution. Addressing the Province No 2 gathering of the party at Bardibas on Wednesday, senior leader Khanal said only successful election institutionalizes democratic values and practices. 'Not amendment but implementation of the constitution is the need of hour,' he underscored. On the occasion, another leader Madhav Kumar Nepal accused the Madhesi front of interfering with the peaceful programme of the UML and added that the front was showing fascist style where the ruling Nepali Congress and the CPN Maoist Centre are the mere witnesses. General Secretary Ishwor Pokhrel said his party would again go to people with peaceful activities. More than 2,000 leader and active cadres of the party from eight districts of Province No 2 were provided orientation on the occasion.
