IGP appointment case hearing deferred on June 15

KATHMANDU: The next hearing of the case relating to Deputy Inspector General of Nepal, Nabaraj Silwal, over his appointment to the post of Inspector General of Nepal Police has been scheduled for June 15. The Apex Court was supposed to conduct a hearing on the case today, however, ran short of time. The hearing was conducted under the division bench of judges—Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana, Jagadish Sharma Poudel, Dip Kumar Karki, Kedar Prasad Chalise, Sapana Pradhan Malla, Tej Bahadur KC and Purushottam Bhandari, said Joint-Spokesperson at the Supreme Court, Bishworaj Poudel. Earlier, DIG Silwal had filed a writ petition at Supreme Court, demanding his appointment to the post of IGP as he was the senior most on rank.
