RJP-Nepal, FSF-N back NC president

Kathmandu, June 6 The Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal and Federal Socialist Forum Nepal-today separately signed three-point deals with the ruling Nepali Congress and CPN-Maoist Centre to support NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba in his prime ministerial bid. As per the deals, the signatory parties reiterated commitment to the three-point deal reached with the United Democratic Madhesi Front and the Federal Alliance last year. The contents of both deals are the same. The deals state that some work related to the formation of a federal  commission (to revise provincial boundaries),  constitution amendment, withdrawal of charges slapped against the cadres of the agitating forces, granting of martyrdom status to those killed during Madhes agitation, providing compensation to the victims and providing treatment cost to those injured had already been initiated and some work was yet to be initiated. The parties expressed their commitment to give priority to amend the constitution, withdraw charges slapped against cadres of the agitating forces, grant martyrdom status to those who were killed during protests and provide relief to those who were injured during agitation. The signatory parties also expressed commitment to increase the number of local levels on the basis of political consensus. NC President Deuba, CPN-MC’s Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and FSF-N Chair Upendra Yadav signed the agreement. Deuba, Dahal and RJP-N leaders — Mahendra Yadav, Sharat Singh Bhandari, Anil Jha, Rajkishor Yadav, Sarbendra Nath Shukla and Laxman Lal Karna — also signed a separate deal.
