Dahal urges Baidhya, Chand for party unification

KATHMANDU: CPN Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that his party was taking special initiative to integrate and organise Nepal's Communist movement. At a programme organised to welcome cadres from different political parties in the Maoist Centre at his residence in Lazimpat on Saturday, Dahal also urged the communist parties in different factions for party unification. The former prime minister said, 'It is not needed to remain separately formed Communist parties under any pretexts. I urge all comrades remaining under the leadership of Mohan Baidhya and Netra Bikram Chand to come for party unification.' Stating that clear road maps for constitution's implementation have been prepared after the successful completion of the first phase of local level polls and approaching date of the second phase, Dahal said that his government has set national and international standards in some issues. Dahal also said that the erstwhile government under his leadership successfully led the country to the new direction amid uncertainties and challenges. On the occasion, Dahal said that a basis for socialism has been prepared and a ray of hope has been spread among Nepalis, adding that confidence has been built up for institutionalisation of the changes. Chairman Dahal shared that a new foundation has been laid to unite the Madhes, hill and mountain and added that the sacrifices of martyrs, injured, enforced disappeared would not go in vein. He further said that the Maoist movement is being united and the Maoist Centre is emerging as the powerful political party, accusing the CPN-UML of tantamount to opportunism. Dahal also urged the sincere and honest cadres of the UML to join the Maoist Centre. On the occasion, as high as three dozens of political cadres from different political parties joined the Maoist Centre. RSS
