DAMAULI, JANUARY 30

Former finance minister and Nepali Congress central member Ram Sharan Mahat today expressed confidence that the Supreme Court would give free and fair verdict in relation to dissolution of the House of Representatives.

Inaugurating Byash Municipality Ultra marathon in Tanahun today, Mahat reiterated that the SC would deliver fair verdict in connection with the Parliament dissolution case.

Mahat said that Prime Minister KP Oli Sharma's decision to dissolve the Parliament was undemocratic and unconstitutional.

'I believe that Nepal still has an independent judiciary and the Supreme Court will uphold the rule of law and protect the constitution,' he added.

Mahat asked all and sundry to defend the constitution and republicanism in the country. He claimed that Nepali Congress would take initiatives to end the evils prevalent in society for the prosperity and development of the nation.
