CoAS Chhetri inspects RCMC in Chhauni

KATHMANDU: Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Rajendra Chhetri on Monday visited the Regional Crisis Management Centre (RCMC) built on the premises of the Mahabir Ranger regiment in Chhauni with the support from the US Embassy. The head of the Nepal Army inspected the infrastructure and equipment related to disaster management training. The buildings were handed over to the NA's Disaster Management Directorate on June 19. The RCMC's quake-resilient buildings will be used for the Multinational Military Coordination Centre (MNMCC) for effective coordination among the multinational military forces for search, rescue and relief operations during the event of natural disasters. The buildings will also be used for training, exercises, seminars and meetings related to national and international levels of crisis management. The CoAS also inaugurated two model residential buildings of company level built within the battalion's premises. He also inquired into the battalion's operation, training and management among various aspects.
