KATHMANDU: Police on Thursday said an absconding murder suspect has been held from Machegaun in Kirtipur Municipality-4. Issuing a press statement today, the Metropolitan Crime Division said 24-year-old Sagar Subedi of Saping in Dolalghat-9 in Kavre district, currently residing in Bagdole in Lalitpur, was arrested, today. The suspect Sagar Subedi had attacked Raju Shrestha with a sharp weapon at the inner road of Soaltee Mode on August 21 and two days later Shrestha succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Trauma Centre under Bir Hospital, according to police. After the incident, Subedi was hiding in Kirtipur area. According to police, Subedi and Shrestha were core members of agents of two different groups working to procure labour permit from Department of Labour for their clients before sending them for foreign employment. Subedi might have attacked Shrestha to take revenge of previous dispute between them, as stated in the statement. Meanwhile, the suspect has been sent to the Metropolitan Police Circle Kalimati for further investigation today itself, it said in the statement.
