700 ropanis of hemp plantation destroyed in Gokarneshwar

KATHMANDU: Police on Thursday destroyed hemp plantation cultivated across 700 ropanis of land in Okhareni of Gokarneshwar Municipality-1 in Kathmandu district. The team of police mobilised by the Metropolitan Police Circle, Bouddha destroyed the hemp cultivated in the private land near Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park. The illegal plantation was destroyed considering its commercial production upon harvest, said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Aychut Pudasaini. It is learnt that hemp is planted in approximately 2,000 ropanis of land near the Park, said DSP Pudasaini. He added that police were preparing to destroy the remaining plantation across 1,300 ropanis area this week.
