Lalitpur, December 15 Nepal Police Club’s Kamal Shrestha and Parbati Gurung won gold medals in the eighth Korean Ambassador Open National Taekwondo Tournament here at the International Sports Complex today. In men’s below-29 age category poomsae, Shrestha defeated his NPC teammate Jit Bahadur Bhote, while Gurung saw off Nita Gurung in women’s category. In above-30 poomsae, Tribhuvan Army Club’s Rejin Rimal beat NPC’s Jagadish Singh Pali. In women’s category final, Rekmaya Gurung of Pokhara saw off TAC’s Mira Kafle. In below-14, Yukin Chaudhary of Lalitpur and Rita Shrestha of TAC won gold medals in boys and girls sections respectively. Similarly, in below-17 category, Nabin Shrestha of Jaycees and Nomita Moktan of Syuchatar came first in boys and girls events respectively. In men’s senior pair poomsae, NPC’s Kamal Shrestha and Parpati Gurung won gold medal beating TAC’s Sanjib Ojha and Nita Gurung. In junior category, Asmin Raut and Binita Tamang of Syuchatar won gold medals. NPC also won men and women categories team poomsae gold medals.
