216 benefit from free health camp in Bhaktapur

BHAKTAPUR: As many as 216 people benefitted from a free health and eye check-up camp set up in Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-1 of Bhaktapur district on Saturday.

The camp organised by the Siddhikali Youth — a local youth group — at Prajapati Tol in Lokanthali, was run by the BP Eye Foundation in association with the Children's Hospital for Eye, ENT and Rehabilitation Services and Rehabilitation Service, and Lions Club of New Baneshwar, providing free health services to 113 female and 103 male patients.

Furthermore, a team of specialists from Children's Hospital for Eye, ENT and Rehabilitation Services and Rehabilitation Service provided eye check-up service at the health camp.

According to Rakesh Prajapati, President of youth group, the health camp was organised with the objective of spreading public awareness on eye health and care among the locals.

Among the 194 people who underwent eye check-up, five were diagnosed with cataract problem. They have been referred to Children's Hospital for Eye, ENT and Rehabilitation Services and Rehabilitation Service for further treatment, informed Prajapati adding that the arrangements would be made for them to receive treatment at subsidised rate.
