EC working in line with the Constitution: Yadav

KATHMANDU: Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhee Prasad Yadav has urged the political parties and their sister organisations not to throw allegations at the Election Commission over the announcement of the election result.
Receiving a memorandum from the delegation led by the Chairperson of Nepal Women Association Goma Devkota, on Wednesday, Yadav drew the attention of the government to not cast aspersion on the EC.
Yadav clarified that every activity was being carried out in line with the constitution and by following due processes.
The representatives of the Association questioned EC on the delay in announcing the result of proportional representation election of the provincial assembly. The Association also urged Yadav and the Election Commission to work fairly by announcing the proportional election results for provincial assembly in view of the people’s mandate.
