Archers Pun, Gauchan advance to final in recurve

Kathmandu, January 6 Prem Prasad Pun of Swoyambhu Archery Club and Min Gauchan of Thasang Sports Club advanced to the men’s 70m recurve category final of the eighth National Archery Tournament under the NSC Championship here today. In the semi-final matches, Pun beat Tribhuvan Army Club’s Roshan Nagarkoti 6-2, while Gauchan saw off Tilak Pun of Kaski Archery Association 6-4. Gyanu Awale and Ayesha Tamang set the all-TAC final in the women’s section. Awale beat Tamanna Chhetri of Kanchanpur 6-0 and Tamang recorded a 7-3 victory over Rashmi Darlami of Kaski. In men’s 50m compound event, Prajit Agrawal of Best Archery Club beat Annapurna Archery Club’s Kishor Kumar Gurung 133-132,while Sanatan Malla of Rajdhani Archery Club saw off Hom Bahadur Rokka of Kanchanpur 134-133 to make it to the final. In men’s 30m standard event, Dharmendra Chhantyal of Swoyambhu thrashed TAC’s Prem BK 6-0 and Nabin Bir Basnet of Best Archery defeated TAC’s Damber Thapa 6-2 and advanced to the final. In women’s semi-finals, TAC’s Mitra Rai defeated Archana Thapa Magar of Kaski 6-0 and Keshari Ale Magar outplayed her Annapurna teammate Rojina Thapa Magar 6-2.
