LALITPUR: The capacity of Nakkhu Jail, which currently accommodates around 500 inmates, would be expanded to accommodate 1,000 inmates. Out of the two blocks -- one block each for males and females -- with accommodating capacities of 250 inmates each, the male block has already been brought into operation while the female block is under construction, said Jailer Tek Bahadur KC. KC said that the construction company delayed the construction of the female block. He added that it would be brought into operation within mid-July. Meanwhile, the reconstruction of the Community Rehabilitation Centre and the Drug Rehabilitation Centre at the jail is underway as the Gorkha earthquake had damaged these blocks.
