KATHMANDU, JANUARY 17

Air services to and from Simkot Airport have resumed following the clearance of accumulated snow.

Simkot Airport Chief Mahendra Singh stated that operations were restored after snow was successfully removed from the runway. The district had been experiencing continuous snowfall since Thursday morning.

A coordinated effort by the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, and Nepal Police ensured the removal of snow from the runway and hangar earlier today.

Following the clearance, Sita Air and Summit Air flights departed from Nepalgunj, confirmed Singh.

Additionally, road access to Simkot, the district headquarters, had been disrupted for two days due to the snowfall.
