BIRGUNJ: The local administration has sealed a total of 16 shutters including 14 pharmacies, one grocery and one sweet shop run on the premises of Narayani Sub-Regional Hospital, Birgunj on Friday. The Supreme Court had ordered governmental hospitals on June 28 of 2015, not to allow private pharmacies and shops to be operated on their premises, which is now executed by the local administration, said Parsa's Chief District Officer Binod Prakash Singh. These pharmacies had not renewed their permit since last three years. 'We had requested all the private pharmacies being run on the hospital premises and other shops to shift their operations. But they ignored our request, hence we locked down the shutters,' informed Singh. There were plenty of complaints of these private pharmacies fleecing the customers. Narayani Hospital, which has already begun its own pharmacy, had published multiple notices to remove the shutters.
