Lalitpur, February 23 Hosts Tribhuvan Army Club and Western Regional Volleyball Association advanced to the final of the CoAS third National Men’s Volleyball Tournament here at the Army Physical Training and Sports Centre in Lagankhel today. In the semi-final matches, TAC defeated Nepal Police Club in straight sets, while Western recorded a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Nepal APF Club. The final match between departmental side TAC and Western Region will be played on Saturday. In the day’s match, TAC defeated NPC 25-20, 25-21, 25-19 to make it to the final. Similarly, APF won first set 25-20 against Western, who bounced back to win next two sets 28-26, 25-23 to take a 2-1 lead. But, APF fought hard to win the fourth set 26-24 before Western won the deciding final set 18-16 to make it to the final. Top three teams will earn Rs 300,000, Rs 150,000 and Rs 75,000 respectively, while the best spiker, blocker, defender, lifter and coach will get Rs 10,000 each.
