KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 11
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) recorded a notable gain of 45.88 points, representing a rise of 1.71%, closing at 2,715.71 points by the end of trading on Wednesday.
The Sensitive Index, which tracks the performance of class 'A' stocks, surged by 2.14%, while the Float Index, which reflects actively traded shares, increased by 1.88%.
Amid the positive movement in the benchmark index, daily turnover have increased to Rs 5 billion, with 11,386,854 shares traded across 308 scrips in 56,350 transactions. The intraday turnover on Tuesday was Rs 4.41 billion.
Almost all sectoral indices experienced gains, with the exception of the Mutual Fund sector, which saw a minor decline of 0.31%. The Banking sector led the gainers, showing a robust increase of 3.43%. Other sectors also showed positive results, with the Hydropower sector up by 1.96%, Finance increasing by 1.83%, Development Banks rising 1.63%, Trading gaining 1.56%, Life Insurance up by 1.07%, Hotels and Tourism by 1.05%, and Non-Life Insurance by 1.03%.
In terms of individual stock movements, a total of 212 stocks advanced, while 28 declined, and three remained unchanged.
By the end of trading, the total market capitalization stood at Rs. 4.504 trillion.
