KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 3

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) saw an increase of 17.80 points on Tuesday, closing up by 0.64% at 2,775.85 points by the end of trading.

In a mixed performance, while the benchmark index recorded gains, the Sensitive Index, which measures the performances of class 'A' stocks, saw a slight decline of 0.12%. Conversely, the Float Index, which tracks actively traded shares, experienced an uptick of 0.20%.

The total turnover for the day reached Rs. 8.521 billion, with 18,160,634 shares traded across 307 scrips, resulting in 88,775 transactions.

The market displayed variability, with only six sectors reporting positive outcomes. The Trading sector led with a notable increase of 5.96%. Following this, the Hydropower sector gained 1.85%, the Life Insurance sector rose by 1.52%, and the Finance sector went up by 1.39%. Conversely, the Hotels and Tourism sector experienced the largest drop, declining by 1.71%.

Dibyashwori Hydropower Ltd. (DHPL) and Ingwa Hydropower Limited (IHL) each recorded impressive gains of 10% in their share values.

Notably, the Ngadi Group Power Ltd. (NGPL) stood out as the top company in terms of turnover, volume, and transactions, with 848,076 units of shares exchanged for Rs. 267,437,764.90 across 2,112 transactions.

On an individual stock basis, 142 companies saw advances while 97 declined, and five remained unchanged.

The trading day concluded with the total market capitalization at Rs. 4.604 trillion.
