Nepal is set for another unsettled day, with heavy rainfall likely in parts of four provinces as the monsoon continues to influence the entire country.
The Meteorological Forecasting Division said heavy rain is likely at one or two places in the Himalayan and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, as well as the hilly and Terai areas of Sudurpashchim Province.
Moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is expected at many places in the hills, while parts of the Terai in Koshi, Lumbini and Sudurpashchim could also receive moderate rainfall.
The entire country is expected to remain generally cloudy, with moderate rain or snowfall possible in some Himalayan areas and thunderstorms forecast in parts of the Terai.
The unsettled weather is expected to continue overnight, with heavy rainfall possible at one or two places in the hilly and Terai areas of Koshi and Sudurpashchim provinces.
The division said monsoon winds are currently affecting the entire country, with the monsoon low-pressure line slightly north of its normal position. A low-pressure area formed around Uttar Pradesh is also influencing Nepal's weather.
In Kathmandu, moderate rain with thundershowers is forecast, with temperatures ranging between 27–29°C during the day and 19–21°C at night, and a 60% chance of rain.
Among the cities listed, Bhairahawa is expected to record the highest daytime temperature at 32–34°C, while Jomsom will remain the coolest at 19–21°C. The forecast also puts daytime temperatures in Dhangadi at 29–31°C, Biratnagar at 31–33°C, Pokhara at 27–29°C and Janakpur at 31–33°C.
