KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 28

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index closed at 2,645.36 points on Tuesday, gaining 27.41 points or 1.04%.

Along with the increase in the benchmark index the Sensitive Index also rose by 0.68%, while the Float Index increased by 1.07%.

Sectorally, finance sector led the market with a significant increase of 3.46%, while life insurance followed, climbing 1.84%. Development banks and hydropower also saw strong growth, up by 1.57% and 1.58%, respectively. The hotels and tourism sector gained 1.17%, and manufacturing rose by 1.34%, contributing to the overall positive market momentum.

The day's total turnover reached Rs 5.34 billion, with 10,418,926 shares traded across 58,552 transactions involving 307 companies.

Among notable stock movements, Janaki Finance Company Limited (JFL) and Dolti Power Company Limited (DOLTI) recorded a 10% increase in share value.

Out of the traded scrips, 213 advanced, 28 declined, and 2 remained unchanged.
