KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 10

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a significant rally on Sunday, with the index rising by 62.54 points, or 2.33%, to close at 2,738.06 points by the end of the trading day.

Along with the surge in the benchmark index, the Sensitive Index climbed 2.07%, while the Float Index rose by 2.23%.

Sectoral performance was notably strong, with the Hydropower Index leading gains at 4.26%. The Development Bank Index followed with an increase of 2.71%, and the Finance Index was up 2.48%. The Investment Index advanced by 2.56%, and the Others Index posted a 2.52% gain. The Life Insurance and Manufacturing and Processing sectors rose by 2.16% and 2.32%, respectively. Gains were also recorded in the Non-Life Insurance Index (+1.95%), Banking Sub-Index (+1.62%), Microfinance Index (+1.51%), and Trading Index (+1.15%). The Hotels and Tourism Index showed a more modest increase of 0.96%, while the Mutual Fund Index gained 0.62%.

Overall market activity was robust, with a total turnover of Rs. 9.77 billion and 22.47 million shares of 325 scrips traded across 100,651 transactions.

Today, investor sentiment remained optimistic, as 228 stocks advanced, 13 declined, and 3 remained unchanged.

Among the day's top performers were Gurans Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (GLBSL) and Shrijanshil Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SHLB), both of which surged by 10% in their share values.
