KATHMANDU: A demonstration was held at Maitighar Mandala today calling for the resignation of Chief Justice Gopal Prasad Parajuli.

The demonstration that lasted for an hour was organised at the call of 'Solidarity for Govinda KC Alliance'. The demonstrators carried placards and chanted slogans calling for CJ Parajuli's resignation.

Addressing a corner meet held after the demonstration, Dr Govinda KC said the judiciary, which is the sole hope of people, has been marred in corruption and hence the movement was organised demanding CJ Parajuli's resignation.

CJ Parajuli will be forced to leave his position before his term ends, Dr KC said.

Also speaking on the occasion, Bibeksheel Sajha Party leader Ranju Darshana said the movement was not only against CJ Parajuli but against corruption as a whole.
