JHAPA: Jhapa-XI thrashed Farwest Sports Club 5-0 in the inaugural match of the third Rumpum Jhapa Gold Cup Football Tournament here at the Domalal Stadium in Biratmod on Saturday. Man-of-the-match Karna Limbu scored a brace, while Devendra Tamang and Khamir Gilson netted one each for Jhapa, who were also gifted by an own goal from Bishnu Chaudhary of Farwest. Tamang opened the scoring in the sixth minute for Jhapa before Chaudhary of Farwest scored an own goal in the 15th minute. Limbu made it 3-0 in the 31st minute. Gilson added another one in the injury time of first half before Limbu netted personal second and team’s fifth goal in the 52nd minute. On Sunday, Rupandehi-XI will take on Nepal Police Club. The winners will earn Rs 1.25 million, while runners-up will get Rs 600,000. — HNS
