KATHMANDU: Newly elected Chairman of National Assembly Ganesh Prasad Timilsina has committed to making best possible efforts to develop National Assembly as the platform of consensus.

In the second meeting of the National Assembly Friday, he said, 'My all activities would move ahead based on consensus.' Chairman Timilsina also said the support of all NA members was needed to justify the NA's relevance as the House with representation of the intellectuals.

He also thanked for his election with support and consensus of all political parties.

Likewise, lawmaker of opposition Nepali Congress Surendra Raj Pandey said the NA Chairman was elected unopposed with his party's support to run the NA on the basis of consensus. He said the NA should move ahead based on consensus instead of the political ground.

Likewise, UML's lawmaker Parshuram Meghi Gurung said the NA should fulfil its responsibility by making laws to strengthen social harmony.

UML's Dil Kumari Rawal also expressed best wishes to the NA Chairman for his guardianship to make judicious laws for people's dignified life.

Similarly, Maoist Centre's lawmaker Kali Bahadur Malla said the NA should be linked with the local and province assembly. The next meeting of the NA has been summoned for 1:00 pm on Sunday.
