PM Oli 'pulls' Attorney General's office under OPMCM

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has brought the Attorney General's Office, which is a constitutional body that serves the government, under the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers. The last meeting of the Council of Ministers passed this decision according to which the office of the Attorney General and all the district offices, previously under the Ministry of Law, will now operate under the OPMCM. Prime Minister Oli had previously 'pulled' ten other important offices under him, assuming an even more powerful status. Prior to this, the PM had brought the National Investigation Bureau, Poverty Alleviation Fund, Development Board, National Planning Commission, National Development Council, National Vigilance Centre, Constitutional Council Secretariat, Department of Money Laundering Investigation, Central Bureau of Statistics and Department of Revenue Investigation under his office.
