KATHMANDU: The Nepali athletics team returned on Thursday after competing in the South Asian Cross Country Championship held in Thimpu, Bhutan on March 27. The Nepali team won one each silver and bronze medals in the championship. Tribhuvan Army Club athlete BishwoRupa Buda bagged silver medal in 8km race, while she teamed up with Reshu Basnet and Bindra Dhanke to claim bronze in the team event of the same category. Sanu Maya Karki, Gajendra Rai, Kalyan Baniya, Tikaram Katwal and Ramji Basnet had also taken part in the championship. Athletic chief coach Amiri Prasad Yadav and Chandra Gurung were the team coaches. Nepal Athletics Association officials welcomed the team at the Tribhuvan International Airport.
